Bardstown’s summer music runs on four tracks. The free one is the Friday-night Summer Concert Series at Bardstown Community Park, 7 p.m. every week from late May to late August. The biggest free night is the Bourbon City Street Concert on North Third Street in June. Live at the Park brings ticketed tribute bands to the Stephen Foster amphitheater, and The Amp at Log Still books country headliners most weekends from May to October. The 2026 park season is over, but The Amp still has shows this fall, and the 2027 lineups arrive in spring.

Free Fridays at Bardstown Community Park
The city’s Parks & Recreation department has run the free Summer Concert Series for 24 seasons. In 2026 it played every Friday from May 22 to August 28, starting at 7 p.m. and wrapping around 9. Expect a different band each week and a relaxed hometown crowd, with room for kids to roam. The Kentucky Standard reported that the band Wildfire closed out the 2026 season.
This is a lawn-chair event. Bring chairs or a blanket, bug spray and something to drink, and arrive a little early for a spot in the shade. Visit Bardstown describes the series as rain or shine. The park is on East Halstead Avenue, a short drive from Court Square, and it is also a good place to stretch your legs on a morning walk (see parks and walking trails). Watch the city’s parks page in spring for the 2027 schedule.
The Bourbon City Street Concert
Once a year, Bardstown Main Street closes the first two blocks of North Third Street for a free outdoor concert. The 23rd edition ran on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 6 to 11 p.m., sponsored by WesBanco and James B. Beam. It had a kids’ zone with bounce houses and bourbon sampling for guests 21 and over. Past headliners have included American Idol winner Noah Thompson.
It falls during National Bourbon Week, which starts June 14, so you can build a whole bourbon weekend around it: distillery dinners and releases by day, street party at night. Walk from your room if you can, because downtown parking disappears.
Live at the Park: tribute nights under the trees
The Stephen Foster Drama Association, which stages The Stephen Foster Story, also runs a summer tribute-concert series at the same outdoor amphitheater in My Old Kentucky Home State Park. Shows start at 8 p.m. Here was the 2026 lineup:
| Date (2026) | Act | Price |
|---|---|---|
| June 1 | The Crashers | $32 |
| June 22 | Boys in the Band (Alabama tribute) | $34 |
| July 13 | Johnny Folsom 4 (Johnny Cash tribute) | $32 |
| July 27 | The Monarchs | $30 |
| Aug 14 | Back 2 Mac (Fleetwood Mac tribute) | $34 |
| Aug 28 | Creedence Revived | $34 |
There are no discounts on concert tickets, but the $180 season pass bundles the Stephen Foster Story, the summer Broadway musical and five Live at the Park concerts, which pays off quickly if you are in town for more than a couple of shows. The box office is at 502-348-5971. Seating is reserved, and the 8 p.m. start misses the worst of the afternoon heat.
The Amp at Log Still
About 20 minutes south of town, the Log Still Distillery campus at Dant Crossing in Gethsemane has an outdoor amphitheater, The Amp, that books concerts nearly every weekend from May to October. The 2026 season leaned country, with Craig Morgan and Frank Ray (August 22), Justin Moore (September 5) and LoCash. The next big date is Dustin Lynch on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 7 p.m., the same weekend as the Arts & Crafts Festival. Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster, where the venue is sometimes listed under New Haven.
The smart move is to stay on the campus. Log Still rents farmhouse suites, cottages and lodges within walking distance of the stage, with suites from $189 a night (see Log Still’s Dant Crossing stays). Book early for concert weekends, and note that no pets are allowed in any unit. Otherwise, arrange a driver for the ride back to Bardstown. The Log Still Distillery page covers tours and the tasting room if you want to make a day of it.
Live music the rest of the year
When the park season ends, the music moves indoors. The Old Talbott Tavern’s bourbon bar has live music most Friday and Saturday nights, generally 7 to 11 p.m., as its bar page shows. Mammy’s Kitchen & Bar books weekend music too, and Circa 1856 hosts occasional concerts in its tasting room. Our Bardstown at night guide rounds up the evening options.
Getting to each venue
The three in-town venues are all close together. Bardstown Community Park is at 429 E. Halstead Ave., a short drive from Court Square. The J. Dan Talbott Amphitheatre is at 411 E. Stephen Foster Ave., inside My Old Kentucky Home State Park, about a mile east of downtown along the same road as several motels. The Old Bardstown Inn sits directly across from the park entrance, so a room there means walking to Live at the Park. The Bourbon City Street Concert is right downtown on North Third Street, and North Third is closed to traffic for the night.
The Amp at Log Still is the outlier: 225 Dee Head Rd in Gethsemane, down rural two-lane roads south of town. There is no public transit in Bardstown, so plan on a designated driver, a hired driver or an on-site room. Our bourbon tours and transportation guide lists companies that drive.
Planning ahead for 2027
None of the 2027 summer lineups have been announced. Watch the city’s parks page for the free Friday series, stephenfoster.com for Live at the Park, and Ticketmaster and Log Still’s site for The Amp. If you are coming for a specific tribute act or headliner, buy early: amphitheater tickets are non-refundable, but they can be exchanged.
Tips for concert nights
- Bring your own chairs to the Community Park series. The amphitheater has fixed seats.
- Pack bug spray and water. Summer evenings in Bardstown stay warm and humid well after sunset, with July highs averaging 87°F.
- Eat first. Food options at the free concerts vary, and downtown kitchens fill up on summer weekends.
- Plan your ride home from Log Still. It is a rural drive on two-lane roads, and after a distillery visit plus a concert, you should not be the driver.
